The Alicia Boparai Foundation
By Rajvinder Kaur Chima
To encourage Alicia in her ongoing struggle with her illness and show her she was always in our hearts and minds I organised for myself and 11 others to climb Mount Snowdon in Wales in a bid to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research charities.
I would like to thank everyone that helped us raise five thousand pounds for two charities that are very close to our hearts.
Bungee Jump Sunday 23/11/14
Nikki Jawanda (Leeds Dental School, Charity Rep) organised for a group of students from Leeds Dental School to come to Newcastle to do a 175 ft Bungee Jump on the River Tyne. These wonderful people wanted to help raise awareness of The Alicia Boparai Foundation and raised over £2000 in Alicia's memory which will help children, young people and and their families affected by a life threatening illness. Thank you to Jacob, Fayjel, Sowmya, Disha, Nikki, Minal, Chris, Cara, Katie, Georgie, Sunny, Manisha, Yasmin, George, Hussain, Ravina, Seb, Jenny and Polly. You are all amazing and have done something truly brilliant. Well Done!!! Thank you to Cara's dad for being photographer for the event. I will publish pics as soon as I get my hands on them.
